Dawn Above The Clouds (from the series: The Secret Life of Clouds)

Do clouds ever sleep? Who could answer such a question?

It is a matter of belief rather than science. One set of beliefs suggest that in the evening the clouds huddle close to the earth, resting for a while on mountain ranges and even hills, seeking out the warmth that only the earth itself and the myriad creatures that swarm across it can provide. They sleep then, until the sun peers at them from the edge of the false dawn and then pauses for a while before it banishes the dread of the night with a new morning.

Another creed suggests that clouds never sleep. They simply put their colors away when night comes upon them, and then as the morning approaches they reach back into their memories to rediscover and remember the purples, reds and golds that only they know how to wear.

Who could ever say which, if any, of these two dreams is real?
