It seemed as though Salvador Dali had risen from his grave and set up a demolition operation in the London. There can be no doubt that this is the most artistic way to remove a building and it seems fitting it take place in London next to the LLoyds building, which is itself a tribute to the marriage of art and architecture. This was a strange thing to suddenly discover. I drifted into it when attending a business meeting and luckily I had a camera with me.

There is, sadly, a more mundane explanation. It was possible, and even cheaper, to demolish the building this way, as it had been built around a single central supporting block, with the external wall offering no support whatsoever – and not needing to. Nevertheless, anyone who had worked in the building would have surely have raised an eyebrow on being told this.
