Robin Bloor: In The Press

Quite early on in his activities as an analyst, Bloor realized that there were significant advantages in being quoted in the press, and thus implemented a policy (in Bloor Research) that if ever a journalist called ,they were to be given immediate access to him unless he was involved in a meeting that really could not be disturbed.

After leaving University in the 1970s, Bloor worked for a short period of time as a “gofer” in the offices of Accountancy Age in London. He thus came to understand the nature of magazine journalism, and particularly appreciated the fact that journalists live and die by deadlines, and that deadlines are always short.

Bloor has thus been quoted extensively in the UK IT press and for many years was quoted far more frequently than any other UK analyst. As well as being quoted regularly in IT journals in the UK, US and Europe, Robin has been quoted in the following UK, US and International Newspapers/Journals:
Wall St Journal
The Times
The Guardian
The Independent
The Sunday Times
Financial Times
The Daily Mail
The Economist
and others

Has also appeared on Television and/or radio (as a commentator) for:
Bloomberg
CNN
FTTV
Silicon.com
BBC
CNET
and others.
